The fate of the New Zealand crew is unknown, presumed executed by the Japanese who occupied the Talasea area at the time of the forced landing. The US & NZ aircraft both made forced landings on Talasea Government Station pre-War emergency landing ground after sustaining engine damage during bombing raids over Rabaul. |
